Description
Who it is for and what it is for
A basic mix for wild birds for winter, with high energy value.
How to feed
- Start when snow falls and frost sets in, and the birds cannot find food on their own. Do not start too early (recommendations of OTOP, the Polish Society for the Protection of Birds, and GDOŚ, the General Directorate for Environmental Protection).
- Feed regularly, because birds quickly get used to a feeder (OTOP, GDOŚ).
- Put out small portions so that the food does not sit there. Remove mouldy food (GDOŚ, OTOP).
- Keep the feeder clean and wash it with hot water without detergents (product description, OTOP).

Questions
When should you start feeding birds in winter?
OTOP advises starting in late autumn, when snow falls and frost sets in. GDOŚ adds that you should not start too early, only when snow makes it hard for birds to forage.
Can you give birds bread?
OTOP strongly advises against bread. GDOŚ also lists leftovers from dinner and salted food as things we should not give to birds.
