Sunflower for birds is 100% seeds, and tits, nuthatches and greenfinches like it best. Fat balls and fat bells are hung without a feeder, and the spring works as a feeder itself and can be refilled many times. When feeding birds in winter, stick to a few rules OTOP and GDOŚ: put out only a little at a time, wash the feeder with hot water without detergents and do not give anything salted.
Questions about feeding birds in winter
When should you start feeding birds?
When snow falls and frost sets in, because then it is hard for birds to find food. In a mild, snowless winter birds cope on their own. Once you begin feeding, keep it up regularly until the end of winter.
What should I feed tits with?
Sunflower and fat food: balls, bells, nut treats.
Can you give birds bread?
No. OTOP and GDOŚ advise against bread. It is better to choose food prepared for wild birds.
Fat balls with netting or without?
Without. OTOP points out that netting can be dangerous for birds, so if a ball hangs in netting, remove it. In the spring feeder for wild birds, the balls come without netting.
